Dr. Etienne
Krug

IOC Chair

Dr Etienne Krug is a Belgian physician and epidemiologist who serves as Director of the Department of Social Determinants of Health at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. He holds an MD from the Université catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and an MPH from Harvard University (USA). DrKrug leads global efforts on injury, violence and roadsafety prevention, healthy aging, urban health and the social and commercial determinants of health He chairs the international organizing body for global injuryprevention conferences and the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration.  Before WHO, 

he worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (USA), and with humanitarian organisations including Médecins Sans Frontières and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Hyder

DrAdnan A. Hyder, MD, MPH, PhD, is Professor of Global Health and Dean of the Boston University School of Public Health. He has over 25years of experience advancing injury prevention, health systems, and noncommunicable disease research in low and middleincome countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. DrHyder founded the Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit and has led global initiatives on road safety, child injury prevention, and health policy, translating evidence into practical interventions and influencing international health systems and policy frameworks.

Dr. Olive
Kobusingye

DrOlive Kobusingye is a Ugandan trauma surgeon, emergency physician, and injury epidemiologist, who serves as Senior Research Fellow at Makerere University School of Public Health. She founded the first hospitalbased trauma registry in subSaharan Africa and developed the Kampala Trauma Score a practical tool for assessing injury severity in lowresource settings. She leads the Trauma, Injury & Disability (TRIAD) programme and chairs the Road Traffic Injuries Research Network (RTIRN). Her work spans emergency care, injury surveillance, roadsafety, drowning prevention and capacity building in global health.

massetti

DrGreta M. Massetti, PhD, MA, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Population Health Sciences at Georgia State University. Formerly, she was Principal Deputy Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, where she led global efforts to quantify and prevent violence, suicide, overdose and other injuries. Her work particularly addresses violence against children and youth, adverse childhood experiences, and their links to physical and mental health. She has authored over 130 scientific publications and is recognised for translating data into evidencebased policies worldwide
